WHY WE DO THIS

WHY WE DO THIS

In the Beginning, God

“In the beginning, God…” (Genesis 1:1). These first words of Scripture reveal a loving and personal Creator. God made the heavens and the earth, forming all things with beauty and purpose. He created humanity in His image, designed for relationship witH Him and with one another. We were made to walk with God in peace, love, and trust.

The Problem of Sin

Yet, our relationship with God was broken. Humanity turned away from God’s good design and chose rebellion instead. The Bible says,

“None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God.” – Romans 3:10-11

“For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” – Romans 3:23

Sin separates us from God and leads to death—physical, spiritual, and eternal:

“For the wages of sin is death…” – Romans 6:23a

“To set the mind on the flesh is death… the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God.” – Romans 8:6-7

“Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.” – James 1:15

We cannot fix this problem ourselves.

We need a Savior.

Jesus’ Sacrifice

Because of His great love, God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to rescue us.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

Jesus lived without sin, yet took our sin upon Himself.

“He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness.” – 1 Peter 2:24

Through His death and resurrection, Jesus offers us complete forgiveness.

“In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses…” – Ephesians 1:7

Salvation is a gift—one we receive through faith, not by our own efforts:

“By grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.” – Ephesians 2:8

But the good news is not just about what we’re saved from—it’s about what we’re saved to.

“…but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 6:23b

Through Jesus, God offers us a gift we could never earn: forgiveness, transformation, and eternal life.

Cleansed and Made New

When we turn from sin and trust in Jesus, God purifies us and makes us new.

“The blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from all sin.” – 1 John 1:7

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us…and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9

We are no longer ruled by the flesh, but are empowered to live by the Spirit.

“We are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.” – Romans 8:12

Growing in Christ

Salvation is the beginning of a lifelong journey. God calls us to grow in maturity and reflect the character of Christ.

“Like newborn infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it you may grow up into salvation.” – 1 Peter 2:2

Through teaching, discipleship, and the power of the Holy Spirit, we grow in grace:

“Him we proclaim…that we may present everyone mature in Christ.” – Colossians 1:28

“His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness…” – 2 Peter 1:3

Our lives become a light to others as we shine for Christ.

“Do all things without grumbling… that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God… among whom you shine as lights in the world.” – Philippians 2:14–16

The Promise of Heaven

Those who place their faith in Jesus are given eternal life. We look forward to a glorious future in the presence of God.

Heaven is not just a destination—it’s our hope.

“The wall was built of jasper, while the city was pure gold, like clear glass… The foundations of the wall… adorned with every kind of jewel.” – Revelation 21:18–21

This is the promise for all who believe.

Friend, this message is not just information—it’s an invitation.

You can begin by praying something like this:

If you made that decision today, please let us know. We want to walk with you as you begin this journey with Jesus.
